Château Lamothe-Bergeron, Haut-Médoc, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, Bordeaux, France 2018

A complex, developing Cru Bourgeois Supérieur made with an almost equal blend of Cabernet and Merlot. Roasted coffee and forest floor notes come first, followed by a pure undertone of blackcurrant and dark fruits. Aged for 12 months in oak, the slightly grippy, mouth-coating tannins provide a solid structure on the palate. The woody, tobacco-spiced blackberry and plum juice on the palate is ripe yet lively with elegant acidity. Sweet dark fruits follow to the finish.
