Great depth and power here, concentrated with ripped tannins, but so classically formed that it is pretty irresistible, full of liquorice, saltine crackers, earth, blackberries, crushed stone and rosemary herbs. Seductive, and will age well. Eric Boissenot's home estate - and worth noting that for a consultant who is so intimately connected to the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, this is an unusual wine across the Médoc peninsula for being 100% Merlot. The same estate makes an AOC Haut-Médoc wine, also tasted.
