A family-run property since 1876, just six hectares of the 20 hectares under vine go into this prestige cuvée, which owner Frédéric Vauthier keeps back for five years so it is released with some maturity. With 14 months in old oak, the juicy, savoury plum fruit shines above the spiced vanilla wood notes on the supple palate, lifted by bright acidity. A fine buy.
