More expressive than usual at this stage. Fragrant floral, dark fruit notes (Cabernet Franc 80%). Smooth and ripe on the palate. Silky tannins.

A smoky, meaty and savoury nose followed by ripe fruit and full profile in the mouth - this has a nice texture and presence. There's a sense of style here - it's well framed and feels well worked in terms of straight and precise tannins which really give a tight frame to the wine in the mouth and then expansion towards the mid palate and finish. It's not plush, instead keeping in step with the vintage giving cool blue fruit aspects and a sense of classicism. Drinking really well today, still with force but this has a sense of enticing, naughty charm too. Still lots of potential for ageing.
