Dark and concentrated in the glass, very attractive woody/spicy notes are starting to emerge on the nose, combining with sappy, bright, dark cherry and berry fruit on the palate. Finishes with firm tannins and a long aftertaste - this needs several more years in bottle. Another Grand Cru produced with purchased grapes, the vineyard is sited on calcareous clay soil with silt and, in the upper patches, a gravel scree.
