The cooperative of Cave de Lugny, based in the Mâconnais and making wines across numerous regional and village appellations, has over 400 grower members and is the largest in the region. This straight Bourgogne offers a lot of wine for the money. Upfront aromas of orchard fruit meld with creamy leesy notes, apricot yoghurt and buttered popcorn. The butteriness is quite opulent and heady, but a stone fruit finish evens it out. Would be a great match for full-flavoured dishes.
