Château Thivin, Cuvée Zaccharie, Beaujolais, Côte de

Tasted by: James Button
(at The Trampery, London, 13 Jun 2018)
Drinking Window: 2018 - 2023
Compared to Les Sept Vignes, this is brighter and more fruit-forward, with blackberry and blueberry aromas and a gravelly, minerally note. In the mouth, intense raspberry jam flows into savoury, tangy red and black fruits with some spice and steely minerality on the finish. Aged for 10 months in wood, 10% new.
