Domaine Blain-Gagnard, Chassagne-Montrachet, 1er Cru Clos

Drinking Window: 2016 - 2020
Jean Marc Blain-Gagnard, originally from Sancerre, and Claudine, from Chassagne, created this domaine in 1980. The vineyards are mostly from Claudine’s family, with the addition of a few acquired later. Red Chassagne-Montrachet is rare but worth exploring. Fresh cherry fruit with notes of toasty oak which will meld with time. Tannins are firm too but in harmony with the pure fruit characters.
