Domaine Laurent Cognard, Le Vieux Château, Burgundy, 2013

Tasted by: Christelle Guibert
Drinking Window: 2016 - 2020
Until 2004, this estate sold its grapes to the local co-op, which dominates production here. Laurent Cognard then returned to his family’s property and spent the next few years revamping its seven hectares. The terroir is very stoney, which gives an attractive steely minerality to this wine. There’s a creamy texture on the palate with fresh citrus characters running through to a zingy finish.
