From plots in Tours-sur-Marne and Bouzy, this comes with 40% of reserve wine from a perpetual reserve started in 2004: 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, aged two and a half years on lees and disgorged with 4.5g/L dosage. The nose is immediately fruity, giving the impression of peppery plum, then chalky overtones and hints of rye bread. A graceful, Pinot-dominated palate structure has fine, tiny bubbles and lovely depth. Effortlessly elegant and great value.
