From a heavily frost-affected vintage of small yields and intense ripeness, Lanson's stellar 1985 Noble is a swaggering, complex, mature Champagne immaculately preserved in the maison's cellars as part of its library collection. Punchy and concentrated with dense tropical fruits, dried lemon, burnt sugar and mocha notes, a beautiful tobacco-like savour and maturity is building here although notes of floral honey and a still-present, gentle but lifting mousse keep this wonderfully drinkable. Exceptional mature Champagne.
