L.V. stands for Long Vieillissement; literally, Long Ageing. This cuvée, based on the 2000 vintage, was initiated by Charles Philipponnat, when he took over the presidency of his familial house. It possesses a stunning bouquet of walnuts, peach, pear, and fresh pastry, with hints of minerality. Vinous and multi-dimensional, it’s a muscular and concentrated Champagne with marked freshness and elegance on the finish. Plenty of racy acids. Superb! Disgorged: March 2021. Dosage: 4.5 g/L.
