I love the tangy red berry fruit and forest strawberry delivered with freshness and lift. 2012 was especially successful for Pinot Noir, which makes up 73% of the blend. The high sugar content of the harvested Pinot Noir (from 11.5° to more than 12°) was matched with excellent acidity, as a high proportion of malic acid maintains freshness. There is a smooth texture to the palate, and a fine bead. The colour is obtained by still Pinot Noir wine (usually from the Clos des Goisses) added during the initial blending process.
