Floral nose, akin to rose petal, accompanied by raspberry, citrus and quince. The attack is lively with persistent bubbles. On the palate, more raspberry, high in acidity but balanced by the dosage at 4.25 g/litre. Intriguing smoky notes along with a touch of vanilla could be attributed to 20% of the blend having been vinified in oak barrels. 100% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and estate vineyards in Mareuil-sur-Ay, Ay and Avenay-Val-d’Or, disgorged after six years in the bottle. Long finish, excellent wine!
