A surprisingly serious wine that opens with notes of apricot, quince and marzipan coloured with hints of delicate acacia flowers and toasted brioche. The grape blend is 61% Pinot Noir and 39% Meunier, all from the Marne Valley, with half of the base wines fermented in oak and half in tank. The wine was aged six years under cork before being disgorged with an extra brut dosage of 3.4g/L. The weight is substantial without being heavy, and the finish lingers invitingly. This wine drinks well now but can age for at least another decade.
