Drinking Window: 2018 - 2021
The Veuve Monsigny Champagnes are made for Aldi by the reliably consistent Philizot & Fils in the Marne Valley. This is great value for a seven-year-old vintage fizz that you could enjoy now but also keep for several years yet. There's a Pinot-dominant 2004 too, for £19.99, but it is tasting quite mature now. This, meanwhile, has lovely yeasty autolytic notes, a mellow toastiness and spiced apple purée flavours.
