You'd have to search hard to find a Gigondas for less than £10, but Lidl has managed with this. It's not the most complex, but has spicy, dark plums and rich black berries on the nose and creamy palate. It's a bit high-toned and warm in alcohol but balanced by well-extracted, ripe fruit. Needs a big steak and kidney pie.
