A magnetic wine that's so open and honest, revealing great purity of fruit. There are lots of aerial red and black fruit aromas, soaring and spiralling up and out of the glass. In the mouth it's smooth and silky, with very well-handled tannins, gently hugging and not gripping. Great swathes of concentrated fresh blackberry fruit, dried herbs and roasted meat elongates the finish. Carignan, Grenache and Syrah are harvested and vinified separately, and the wines are fermented in small steel tanks. 40% of the wine is aged in two-year-old French oak barrels for 10 months. From the mountainous inland part of the appellation.
