Famille Fabre, Les Fabre de la Fontaine Sauvignon Blanc &

Brightly aromatic from the start, with notes of ripe juicy pineapple, Nashi pear, nectarine and a twist of orange zest, this fruity white is an easy-going and highly drinkable addition to any sophisticated (or even better, impromptu) picnic. There's good ripeness of fruit and noticeable weight and concentration, making for a warm and sunny style, but the two varieties (Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier) work surprisingly well in tandem, the former bringing a citrus focus and dash of gooseberry, the latter bringing stone fruit density. Approachable in its open fruity character, and easy to understand.
