Patrick Baudouin is often called a 'poet of terroir' and his Savennières shows why - the ultimate example of what he achieves through a hands off approach that teases the best out of his property's schist slopes. This 2018 is still in its infancy with the stern minerality still very much at the forefront. But one can already perceive how beautifully it is being woven into fleshy citrus and orchard fruit, creating a framework at once lean and robust, that will deliver elegance and subtlety in years to come.
