The close-knit Lieubeau family are based in Château-Thebaud. The 70-hectare domaine is now run by François (commercial side), Vincent (vines and wine-making) and Marie (accounts and wine tourism) taking over from their parents Chantal and Pierre. The Lieubeaus produce an excellent range of Muscadets along with some IGP varietal wines. Confluent comes from an east facing parcel of 20 year old vines on gneiss near the confluence of the appellations two rivers – the Sèvre and the Maine.  The still young and slightly saline 2019 has mouthfilling texture with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Like many of the Lieubeau's wines this has a good potential to age. Good with grilled fish. I also tasted their 2020 Clos de la Placeière, Muscadet Sèvre et Maine (90 points).
