Aldi has added several fine red Rhône options to its range. This classy Crozes from Chassaux et Fils is the standout for the price – smooth, silky dark fruit with hints of pepper, black olive and sappy tannins. Online and in store. Romain Duvernay's St-Joseph (£14.99) and Le Moulin Teyroud's Châteauneuf (£19.99) – both from 2018 and online only – are also good buys.
