The name of this cuvée, a nod to the 1,912-metre high Mont Ventoux, really brings to mind the towering, imposing grandeur of the highest peak in the region. The vineyard is at around 300m on clay and limestone soils and is certified organic. Bold and fruit-forward, it's quite lavish in style, with sweet cinnamon-coated fruit. Heaps of cherries, blackberries, loganberries and brambly depth. There's a spiciness which must come from the fruit, as the wine has seen no oak. It's succulent and juicy, which lends lift to the grippy, structured tannins. This will be in stores from November.
