The Ricard estate was split in two in 1972 to produce Domaine Le Sang de Cailloux and Domaine Le Couroulu. These old vines hark back to the Ricard days, and give lovely floral lift, with violet and raspberry scents. There's lovely purity on the palate, with real clarity, no overextraction and an intense mineral undertow. The fine tannins are present on the finish but not problematic. Very fine, very elegant and well balanced.
