A fairly persistent touch of reduction on the nose, so decant it for a few hours if opening young. Not overly full-bodied, quite neat on the palate, with juicy blackcurrant lozenges. Dense and powerful, this feels a little more potent than the stated 13.5% abv. There's a lot of tannin, but it's quite soft and melted and has good length. Textural, grippy and saline. This has a pleasingly rustic side, which is not unwelcome, especially in Cornas. Certainly authentic.
