Tesco, Finest, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France, 2015

A Grenache-heavy blend showing dark fruit and assorted spices on the nose. The palate is full of cherry fruit followed by darker, brambley fruit. The tannins are soft and the finish spicy. By no means a great Châteauneuf, but it is a good price and will be especially appealing if you want to impress your guests on a budget.
