Rich aromatics of candied peach, apricot and orange leap from the glass. The palate is strikingly punchy and energetic, driven by surging acidity that makes the mouth water and almost wince with its intensity. Despite that sharp freshness, the fruit remains ripe and fleshy, giving the wine real presence and balance. It feels like a wine that would come into its own at the table – something hearty and rich, perhaps even a fatty cassoulet, would be the perfect partner. A brilliant expression of dry Jurançon wines, which surely have a bright future. It's certainly worth spending a little over £20 on, even for a mid-week treat, because you get a lot of wine and a lot of flavour for your money.
