This is only a snapshot of its long journey into maturation. The Schlossberg is still difficult to decipher, so impenetrable are its layers. Dark fruit (black cherry, plum) is followed by coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, with smoke, a brew of dark flowers and an ethereal note of eucalyptus in the background. The tannins are precise, smooth and polished yet powerful as they traverse the dense structure. There is still a tension between everything that creates a certain nervosity. Time will provide the final touch.
