The island of Samos is famous for its sweet wines, which are vins de liqueurs, with the fermentation stopped and spirit added. Made by the well-respected Union of Samos Coops, comprising 47 cooperatives, this Muscat à Petit Grains has 200g/L of residual sugar, and would be perfect to accompany panna cotta or blue cheese. Golden in the glass, there are heady aromas of apricot, peach and citrus, both fleshy and fresh. It'll keep in the fridge once opened for a couple of weeks, and is perfect for the summer months. Incredible value.
