Nanni Copè was the childhood nickname of Giovanni Ascione, a talented winemaker now on his tenth harvest this year at his small estate near the Volturno river. He makes four different tries through his tiny vineyards of sandy sedimentary soil, and his wines are very precise. The 2016 has a delicious crunchy style, almost like an Italian Cahors yet with all the sunny mediterranean herbs and black cherry fruit of Campania. An incredibly easy-drinking style.
