Tozzi, Iko, Sangiovese di Romagna, Emilia Romagna, 2017

This barrique-aged Sangiovese has a compact black and red fruit nose with some subtle black pepper spice. In the mouth it's intense and tangy, with herb-tinged black cherry and raspberry fruits. Fine, powdery tannins give structure and cocoa depth, while juicy black and red hedgerow fruits linger on the long finish. Fresh acidity finishes things off nicely.
