Selvagrossa, Trimpilin, Le Marche, Italy, 2016

90
Tasted by: James Button
The cool Adriatic terroir has produced a delicious wine from low-yielding Sangiovese aged for 16 months in barriques. Svelte and refreshing, the light tannins and subtle oak sit behind a velvety veil of red fruit, with incisive and fresh acidity and a finish of dusty cedar and tobacco.
