Solely owned by Castello di Neive since 2011, the Santo Stefano vineyard occupies a prized southwest-facing position within the Albesani MGA. It is upfront in fragrances. Slightly sunbaked cherry is studded with vanilla, nutmeg and camphor. On the palate, red berries are intact and pretty, and earthy nuance lends some depth. A noticeable dusting of sturdy tannins gives tension and chew, while the finish sports an irony tang. Ready now but will drink best with a hearty ragù.
