With six hectares in the Cerequio subdistrict, the estate uses approximately half for the backbone of their classic Barolo, supplemented by vineyards in the village of Novello. Youthfully restrained yet bubbling with enthusiasm, Tortoniano shines the vintage in a positive light. It kicks off with eucalyptus and fragrant, fresh-tilled soil. Quite full yet still tight, the palate exhibits a crispness of pristine, perfectly intact cherry and sumac berries. The tannins are malleable and seamlessly woven into the fabric, remaining stony and minerally in length. This is cleverly styled without being flashy, and is already drinking well.
