Cornarea is here not only the name of the estate but also the indication for the historical cru of two hectares from which this wine is made. Planted in 1978, the old Nebbiolo vines are producing a deliciously savoury Roero. Bright ruby in the glass and very classic on the nose, it displays a smoky strawberry, tar and dried cherry character. The attack is firm in acidity, almost tart; the tannins are quite angular and austere on the long finish. Yet the wine is balanced by good concentration, sucrosity and savouriness.
