With the 2022 vintage, Fontanafredda returns three historic single-vineyard bottlings to its extensive stable, including Gallaretto within the Fontanafredda MGA. Last produced in 1985, Gallaretto offers the most substance, backbone and harmony in 2022 while still demonstrating the gentler side of Serralunga. Scents of mint and liquorice lead, with purple florals emerging as it sits. Violet perfumes dark currant tones on the palate, while tannins are broad and clayey in texture. Well hinged and persistent, they flow smoothly to the lively finish.
