Davide Rosso is a skilled producer of Serralunga Barolos from his small estate. The La Serra vineyard gives fairly severe wines that need ageing, and indeed there are brooding dark fruits such as black cherries on the nose. It's velvety but very concentrated, and fortunately the tannins are polished and not too assertive. Powerful and complex, this has a long way to go, but has ample drive and persistence.
