Though based in Novello, Le Strette rents a small parcel in the Bergeisa cru of Barolo. The estate is the only one to make a separate bottling from this site, which sits at the bottom of Cerequio, next to Sarmassa. Aromas are vanilla-tinged and earthy with a touch of cocoa. There is an appealing mineral edge and savoury tang on the palate, with dense fruit matched by powerful tannins which are still rather imposing and just a tad drying towards the finish.
