If you are on the lookout for up-and-coming labels, Merenda Sinoira is one of the new kids on the block. Quantities are still tiny, but as the operation grows, the quality of the wines is moving in the right direction. A co-fermentation of grapes from Ravera and Sottocastello di Novello, Kidì leads with delicate yet pretty aromas of sweet spice, pressed rose and pepper. Ripe but not overly rich, the palate offers plum compote with a touch vanilla. Tannins frame gracefully, and a pop of acidity keeps it fresh. Just wants a bit more complexity and focus.
