The Negretti estate is based in La Morra, but this Barolo comes from the small commune of Roddi, where the top site is Bricco Ambrogio. The brothers who run Negretti adopt a pragmatic approach to wine ageing, using both barriques and large casks.The nose is toasty, with rather subdued raspberry compote aromas. The wine is supple, offering a broad, juicy style that nonetheless has some grip and concentration. The acidity is modest, so it does lack some drive and persistence.
