While the highly regarded Pajorè subdistrict is largely owned by Gaja, the Dellapiana family owns a precious 3ha. Their vineyards include plantings hailing back to 1965. Even in the challenging 2023 vintage, this bottling captures the elegance of the site. It is scented with thyme blossom, orange, clove and pepper. The faintest hint of vanilla doesn't impose. Midweight with balanced intensity, those spice notes repeat on a backdrop of succulent red berries. The tannins are resolute and steely if fine-boned, and refreshing acidity injects crispness.
