Luca Roagna is now releasing the 2016 vintage of his Langhe Rosso. For this wine, he selects two-thirds of the grapes from Pira and one-third from Pajé, using a small proportion of press wines from its top selections. Blood orange dominates the nose, with great depth and an evolved, earthy clay minerality. The palate shines for flavours of macerated flowers allied to a stunning briny character. The tannins are elegant with a sticky finish but melded with crisp acidity and balanced by good fruit concentration. Just 10,000 bottles available.
