Since 2020, this estate has been under the direction of the second generation. Serena Lequio and her husband Andrea D’Alessio now vinify and bottle their three parcels in Gallina separately. The green label hails from the ‘youngest’ vines, which were planted in 1973. An absolutely joyful nose of raspberry, pomegranate, thyme and violet introduces the 2023. Crisp, clean and well sculpted, this midweight beauty is juicy through its red cherry core, and is also vertical in focus with steely minerals and cooling acidity. A spicy finish of peppermint and cardamom trails off leisurely.
