Chianti Rùfina is the most famous of the seven subzones in Chianti DOCG. Here in the hills to the east of Florence, the higher altitude gives ageworthy reds with firm tannins and fresh acidity. This example is appealingly rustic and approachable, with lively cherry fruit, savoury notes and soft tannins.
