In 2015, CastelGiocondo received official organic certification for all 263 hectares of its vineyards. Ripe al Convento represents the estate's highest vineyard, reaching 450 metres above sea level. Despite its altitude it captures the generous warmth of the vintage. Notes of prune cake, chocolate and leather lead on the nose. The palate is thick and densely fruited, with black tea, mint and a salty nuance lending intrigue. The tannins come across as velvety but there's a slight grip that gives this shape. Almost approachable.
