Gradually unveils aromas of white peach, lanolin and marzipan, with balsamic and flinty wafts. The palate displays a juicy Trebbiano-derived core of creamy stone fruits and beeswax, married to crisp acids and a phenolic and saline grip from Vermentino that lingers on a long, tactile finish. Stylistically different from any other Terre di Pisa Bianco, Il Ghizzano – a blend of Vermentino, Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia – is aged in oak casks after spontaneous fermentation with one day of skin contact. While still somewhat neutral – even a bit shy – right now, it possesses the credentials to shine with medium-term cellaring.
