The final wine in Trinoro's trio of I Campi Cabernet Francs, Camagi is the highest site at 550m, and this shows in its finesse in this hot and dry vintage. Sous bois, black and blue berries, petrichor, and some minty, balsamic wafts make for an enticing aroma. In the mouth it combines intense, vibrant and succulent dark fruits with fine, grippy tannins and bright, well integrated acidity. There's an almost-ferrous and incredibly sapid character on the mid-palate, while the finish is precise, fresh and vertical, prolonged by that lovely acidity along with some herbal and balsamic notes. Great poise: a fine Cabernet Franc indeed.
