Ample and rich on the nose with aromatic notes of red and black plums, black pepper, and what Italians call 'balsamico' or 'balsam-like' notes, which allies with nuances of balsam trees, bay leaves, cedarwood and menthol. It finishes beautifully sappy and deep. Torrette is red-only and is the most widely produced wine in the Aosta Valley. It can be just 'Torrette', or 'Torrette Supérieur', which is the premium tier requiring a higher minimum alcohol level and longer ageing. The Ottin philosophy is 'go big or go home' as they only make one Torrette: this extraordinary Supérieur.
