Santa Sofia, Croara del Garda, Garda, Veneto, Italy, 2021

A wine that, for the historic Santa Sofia winery of Valpolicella and Amarone fame, signalled a new direction. In fact, the name Croara means just that in local dialect - they decided to join the Garda DOC appellation a couple of years ago with this immediate and moreish summery white. A joyful lime and soft gooseberry whoosh is underpinned by a savoury, herbaceous minerality for a supremely summery sip.
