An intense and muscular wine that does not shy away from flavour, showing lots of sweet cooked plums, ripe blueberries, blackcurrant and deeply spicy plum jam. It's showing tertiary development through notes of cedar, cigar, tea leaves and roasted coffee beans, finishing with a little ferrous tang.
